As a user, you can configure your Research Drive environment to show your Yoda environment. This is a feature from Research Drive called "External Storage". Once you have that done, you can move data between Research Drive and Yoda by using the Research Drive interface. In this set-up, your Yoda space will act as a remote location for your Research Drive space.

In order to make this happen you will be doing the following:

  1. In Yoda, create a Data Access Password
  2. In Research Drive, set up an External Storage entry
  3. Verify it works

Here follow detailed steps for each of the previous points.

Creating a Data Access Password

  1. Log into your Yoda portal
  2. Follow the steps described on this other page: How to get a Data Access Password

Setting up External Storage

  1. Log into your Research Drive portal
  2. Follow the steps described on this other page: How to connect External Storage
  3. You can use the following details:
    1. For "External Storage" type, choose: WebDAV
    2. For "Authentication", choose "Username and password"
    3. For URL, use the corresponding entry from the "Yoda network drive" column from the table from this page: Yoda URL's
    4. Make sure the box "use https" is ticked

Verifying it works

If it all worked, when you go to your Research Drive portal, you should be able to see, under the "External Storage" menu (on the left column on the main screen), a folder that depicts your remote Yoda.

If you go to your main Files screen of your Research Drive portal, you should be able to see a folder that represents your remote Yoda as well, and you can further operate with files and folders normally there, between Research Drive and Yoda.
